Where this fits

Traffic matters. Enquiries matter more.

A ranking is worth whatever it brings through the door. We work towards the searches that end in someone contacting you, and measure the work by how many of those conversations actually happened.

What the work covers

The parts of SEO we look after.

Not every site needs all of these. After the review you will know which ones yours does, and in what order they are worth doing.

  1. Technical SEO audit

A full crawl of your site to find what is stopping search engines reading it properly: broken pages, duplicate addresses, slow templates, blocked resources.

  2. Keyword and intent research

Separating the searches made by people ready to buy from the ones made by people still reading, and building the plan around the first group.

  3. On-page optimisation

Titles, headings, internal links and copy adjusted so each page answers one question completely rather than three questions partly.

  4. Site speed and Core Web Vitals

Real improvements on a mid-range phone on mobile data, which is how most of your visitors will actually arrive.

  5. Local SEO and Google Business Profile

Getting you into the map results for your area, with listings that stay consistent everywhere they appear.

  6. Content planning

A prioritised list of pages worth writing, based on what your customers search for and what your existing pages do not cover yet.

  7. Structured data

Schema markup so your listings can carry review stars, prices, opening hours and FAQ expanders where they qualify.

  8. Authority building

Earning links and mentions from sites that genuinely relate to your field. No purchased link networks.

  9. Measurement and reporting

Tracking set up so an enquiry can be traced back to the search that produced it, and reported to you every month.

The questions

What business owners usually ask us about search.

If one of these is on your mind, the answer is usually more straightforward than it feels.

  1. Are people finding us when they search?

    What we do

We start with a technical crawl, because a site that is hard to find is often a site that is hard to read. Then we build out the pages that answer what your customers actually search for.

  2. We get visitors, so why so few enquiries?

    What we do

Usually the pages are matching research searches rather than buying ones. We shift the focus towards intent, and make sure every page has one obvious next step.

  3. Our traffic changed and we do not know why.

    What we do

We check it against the algorithm update timeline, your own change history and what has moved in your market, then tell you which of the three it was.

  4. How do we know the work is doing anything?

    What we do

One report a month: what we worked on, what changed and what we are recommending next. Every account stays in your name, so you can check any of it yourself.

  5. Is SEO even right for our business?

    What we do

Sometimes it is not, and we will tell you so. The free review shows you what the opportunity looks like before you commit anything to it.

Not sure what your website needs?

Send it over and we'll tell you, honestly, what we'd improve first.

What you end up with

What you are left with when the work is done.

  1. A site search engines can read

The technical foundations sorted out and written down, so the work does not have to be repeated by whoever looks after the site next.

  2. Pages that answer real questions

Written for the person searching, which is also what search engines have spent a decade learning to reward.

  3. Tracking you can rely on

Analytics and conversion tracking set up properly, in accounts you own, so the numbers stay yours whatever happens next.

How we work

A straightforward way to work together.

You will always know what we are working on, why it comes first and what the last piece of work produced.

  1. 01

    Understand

We learn about your business, your customers, your website and the marketing you are doing today, so that any advice we give is grounded in your situation rather than a template.

  2. 02

    Prioritise

We identify the opportunities that make the most sense for your goals and your budget, and set them out in order, so you can see what we would do first and why.

  3. 03

    Do the Work

We handle the agreed work, whether that is SEO, advertising, content, your website or a combination of them, and keep you updated as it goes rather than only at the end.

  4. 04

    Improve

We measure what the work produced and report it plainly, then refine the plan around it. Your budget and our time go to the channels earning their place.

Getting started

Three ways to begin.

Each of them starts with the same free review, so you can decide with the findings already in front of you.

  • A one-off audit

A full technical and content review of your site, delivered as a written document with a prioritised list of improvements. Yours to keep, and to hand to any developer you like.

    • Full technical crawl and findings
    • Keyword and market analysis
    • A prioritised action list you can act on yourself
    Request the audit
  • Ongoing SEO

The audit, then the work itself, month after month. Scope agreed in advance each month and reported at the end of it, with no lock-in at any point.

    • Technical work, content and authority building
    • Monthly written reporting in plain English
    • Direct access to the person doing the work
    Start a conversation
  • A project build

For a migration, a rebuild or a new site starting from nothing. A defined piece of work with a fixed scope, a start and a finish, quoted in writing before anything begins.

    • Site migrations that keep your existing visibility
    • SEO built into a new site from the start
    • Fixed scope, agreed in writing up front
    Tell us about the project

Why Orion

What you can expect from us.

  1. Advice

    Practical recommendations

We won't recommend something simply because it's another service we can sell. If a smaller piece of work would get you further, that is what we'll suggest.

  2. Communication

    Clear communication

You should always know what we're working on and why. You'll hear from the people doing the work, in language that doesn't need translating.

  3. Budget

    Work that fits your budget

Small businesses don't have unlimited marketing budgets. We plan around what you can realistically invest, and say so when something isn't worth the spend yet.

  4. Simplicity

    No unnecessary complexity

Good marketing can be complicated behind the scenes. It doesn't need to be complicated for you, and we'll keep the reporting and the decisions simple to follow.

In depth

A longer answer, if you want one

Search engine optimisation is the work of making your website a useful answer to the questions your customers are already typing. It is three jobs at once: a technical one, so search engines can read your site properly; a content one, so the pages you have answer real questions in full; and an authority one, so other credible sites point at yours.

A lot of small business websites are held back by the technical side without anyone realising it. Pages load slowly on a phone, headings sit in the wrong order, or the same content exists at three different addresses. That is fixable work with a clear finish line, and it is usually where we start, because it makes everything after it work better.
