Branding Design
Look like the same business on every page, post and printout.
We build the logo, the colour and type system, and the guidelines behind them, so nothing you put in front of a customer looks like it came from somewhere else.
- Source files handed over, in formats you can actually open
- The person designing it is the person you talk to
- A written guidelines document, not just a logo file
- No lock-in period on any engagement

Where this fits
A logo is not a brand. Consistency is.
The mark matters less than whether it shows up the same way everywhere. We design the system and the rules together, so consistency does not depend on someone remembering the hex code correctly.

What the work covers
The parts of branding work we look after.
Not every business needs all of these. After the review you will know which ones yours needs, and in what order they are worth doing.
-
Logo and mark design
A primary logo plus the variations you actually need: a mark alone, a stacked version, a version that works in a single colour.
-
Colour and typography system
A palette with defined roles, not just five colours you like, paired with headline and body typefaces chosen to work together.
-
Brand guidelines document
The rules written down: clear space, minimum sizes, colour pairings, and the mistakes to avoid, so anyone can apply the identity correctly.
-
Business stationery
Business cards, letterheads, email signatures and invoice templates that carry the identity consistently into everyday paperwork.
-
Packaging and print
Labels, boxes, menus or signage designed to hold up in the material they will actually be produced in, not just on screen.
-
Social and ad templates
Reusable layouts for posts, stories and ad creative, so your feed looks planned rather than assembled post by post.
-
Presentation and document templates
A proposal deck and a slide template built to the same system, so a pitch looks like it came from the same business as the website.
-
Identity applied to your website
Making sure the colours, type and spacing on the actual site match the guidelines, not a rough approximation of them.
-
Rebrands and refreshes
Updating an identity that has drifted or dated, while keeping the parts your customers already recognise you by.
The questions
What business owners usually ask us about branding.
If one of these is on your mind, the answer is usually more straightforward than it feels.
Not sure what your website needs?
Send it over and we'll tell you, honestly, what we'd improve first.
What you end up with
What you are left with when the work is done.
-
A system, not just a file
Colours, type and logo variations defined with rules, so consistency does not depend on someone remembering the details correctly.
-
Files you can actually use
Editable source files in formats a printer, a freelancer or your own team can open, handed over rather than kept back.
-
Guidelines a stranger could follow
A written document clear enough that anyone new to the brand can apply it correctly without asking you a single question.

How we work
A straightforward way to work together.
You will always know what we are working on, why it comes first and what the last piece of work produced.
-
01
Understand
We learn about your business, your customers, your website and the marketing you are doing today, so that any advice we give is grounded in your situation rather than a template.
-
02
Prioritise
We identify the opportunities that make the most sense for your goals and your budget, and set them out in order, so you can see what we would do first and why.
-
03
Do the Work
We handle the agreed work, whether that is SEO, advertising, content, your website or a combination of them, and keep you updated as it goes rather than only at the end.
-
04
Improve
We measure what the work produced and report it plainly, then refine the plan around it. Your budget and our time go to the channels earning their place.
Getting started
Three ways to begin.
Each of them starts with the same free review, so you can decide with the findings already in front of you.
-
A brand audit
A review of everything you currently use, the logo, colours, templates and printed material, written up with what is working, what is not, and what we would fix first.
- A full review of your current materials
- What is consistent, and what is not
- A prioritised list you can act on alone
-
A new identity

Advice
Practical recommendations
We won't recommend something simply because it's another service we can sell. If a smaller piece of work would get you further, that is what we'll suggest.
-
Communication
Clear communication
You should always know what we're working on and why. You'll hear from the people doing the work, in language that doesn't need translating.
-
Budget
Work that fits your budget
Small businesses don't have unlimited marketing budgets. We plan around what you can realistically invest, and say so when something isn't worth the spend yet.
-
Simplicity
No unnecessary complexity
Good marketing can be complicated behind the scenes. It doesn't need to be complicated for you, and we'll keep the reporting and the decisions simple to follow.
In depth
A longer answer, if you want one
A brand identity is a small set of decisions, made once and applied consistently: a logo that works at any size, a colour palette, a pair of typefaces, and rules for how they combine. On its own a logo does very little. What makes a business look established is the same marks and colours turning up correctly on the website, the invoice, the social posts and the sign outside the door.
Most small businesses do not have that. They have a logo made quickly at the start, a website in one blue, a proposal document in another, and a social page using whatever the app suggested. None of it is wrong exactly, it just does not agree with itself, and that disagreement is what a customer notices, rather than any single piece of it.
The logo is the smallest part of the job. The bigger part is the document that explains how to use it: which colours pair with which, what the minimum clear space is, which typeface goes on a heading versus a caption, and what not to do with any of it. Without that document, every new hire, printer or freelancer makes their own call, and the identity drifts a little further from itself with each one.
We build that document as part of every identity project, not as an optional add-on. It means the next person who touches your brand, whether that is us, another designer or someone on your own team, can pick it up and use it correctly without asking you a single question.
Every file stays yours. Source files in the formats a printer or another designer can actually open, not just a flattened PDF you cannot edit. We design with your real materials in mind, a business card, a quote template, an Instagram post, rather than a single logo lockup on a white background that looks nothing like how you will actually use it.
If you already have an identity that mostly works, we will tell you that. A refresh that keeps what your customers already recognise and fixes what is actually broken is usually the better job, and the honest one to recommend.
Questions
Questions we get asked a lot.
A full identity with guidelines usually takes several weeks from kick-off to handover, depending on how many rounds of review you need and how much stationery and template work is included. A refresh of an existing identity is generally quicker.
It depends on scope, so we do not publish packages that would be wrong for most people. Every engagement starts with a free review, after which you get a written proposal with a fixed scope and a fixed price. No hourly billing and no surprises.
Usually a refresh. Most businesses gain more from tidying and systemising what customers already recognise than from starting again, and we will tell you honestly which yours needs before you spend anything on the bigger job.
Yes. Editable source files in formats a printer, a freelancer or your own team can open, handed over on completion along with the guidelines document. Nothing is held back.
Often, yes. If the mark itself works, we can build the colour, typography and guidelines system around it rather than replacing it. We will say so plainly if we think it needs replacing instead.
Whatever materials you already have, however inconsistent, an hour for a first conversation, and a quick answer when we need a decision on a direction. That is genuinely it.
